Instagram: 3D Touch Feature for Android
Instagram is the most popular application among all other video and photo sharing. Instagram is the simple way to capture and share the world’s moments.
Last month Instagram added a new feature named 3D Touch on Android devices. 3D Touch introduced in the version v7.13.0. However for the unknown reason they pulled back the feature. But now again Instagram brought this feature back to the users in v7.14.0. Which is already rolling out to the users.
The 3D Touch feature is also known as the ‘peek’. The feature name already tells us what it do. This feature allow users to simply peek at an image by little long pressing on the screen, thus saving the need to open it.
With the help of this feature, Instagram now lets users tap and hold on an image thumb, which then expands ans shows a preview along with the option to comment, like and share. Once user remove the finger from the display the image would shrink back to its original thumb size. A simple tap on the image will open it full size like it does regularly.
It seems that the this 3D Touch feature inspire from Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. The 3D Touch feature is the blockbuster feature since when it came with the iPhone 6s Apple. The photo-sharing service had last month announced that its user base in India doubled over the last year. Instagram passed the 400 million user mark in September and had also claimed that it had over 80 million pictures shared daily. Instagram also been testing multiple account support on its Android app, specifically, for users part of its beta programme.
